Frequently asked questions
What is a MOOC?

A MOOC is a so-called “Massive Open Online Course”, which is aimed at many participants and is open to all. It is primarily based on videos that are structured and distributed to all interested parties, regardless of time and place. Ideally, such a course brings people together to share ideas and learn together with and from each other.

What is the background of the MOOC?

Europe is getting older and older. Many baby boomers are retiring soon – and there are many changes ahead. Who will do all the work during the transition period? Women, we hear, are suddenly a ray of hope in the job market. At the same time, they have been neglected all these years. From the age of 45, they were hardly on the shortlist. Many have resigned. That should change now, because there are many opportunities in the technology industry. But new skills need to be developed – and the first step is to build a mindset that sees an opportunity in the digital world of work. This is where we want to start and encourage women to participate in the digital transformation. Constructive, energetic, optimistic. Let’s talk about how we can gain more influence and take the reins ourselves.

Do I have to register to participate?

Yes, please sign up above. Once registered on our platform, you will quickly have access to more content.

Do I have to pay anything for the course?

No, the MOOC is accessible free of charge.

How long is the course available?

Our MOOC will be available for at least 2 years starting in May 2023. We will start with a live performance from the May 2 through June 1, 2023. And provide the offer in German, English and Greek.

How do you deal with European multilingualism?

We use a variety of technological options to break down language barriers. Ultimately, in the MOOC we also sound out which tools are already available to us for this purpose. For example, videoconferencing and LinkedIn offer good technological options for displaying other languages in your own. At least widely used languages are already implemented. Let’s try it out.

How were the pictures created?

For this course, we used diverse AI tools to experiment with as well. Most static images are generated using Generative AI. It remains to be seen how the U.S. courts will rule in the pending proceedings with respect to the previous copyrights.

Can I get a certificate after the course?

This MOOC is designed without a certificate as it would not be very meaningful. We encourage you to document your own learning somewhere publicly so others can see how you personally reflect on the content. This is much more meaningful than a certificate.

I don’t have much time. Does it still make sense to start?

We think that the recorded videos alone are inspiring and contribute to general education.

What is the hashtag for the MOOC?

Let’s use #witmooc23 on social media. See you there 🙂
